Dave Ansell – Troop Guide

Greetings fellow Wood Badgers!

I am looking forward to an exciting Wood Badge experience.  This is my third Wood Badge course, twice as a participant; and this is my first time on staff.   I am a lifelong Scouter.  I started Scouting as a Cub in second grade and 49 years later I am still learning from and enjoying the Scouting experience.

I am an Eagle Scout and have earned the Silver Beaver among other recognitions.  I am active with Troop 436 in Capitol District and I participate in on the District and Council level.  I have served as a Den Leader, a Cubmaster, a Scoutmaster,  and as a Committee Chairman.  My passion in Scouting is Roundtables; having served  as Roundtable Commissioner for over 15 years and 2 years as the ACC for Roundtables.  Currently I serve as the Assistant Council Commissioner for Training, a.k.a. Chancellor of Commissioner College.

I am married with two sons.  Both are Eagles.  My brother is an Eagle and two of his three sons are Eagles; the third is currently working on his Eagle project. My father was proud to have earned his Tenderfoot rank, and he went on to earn the Silver Beaver.  My wife is the proud recipient of the District Award of Merit.  Scouting is a family affair. Welcome to my family!
